"I was surprised when I found out that locals from my area released such a putrid tape. Surrogate Records usually focuses mostly on local bands. Well anyway, this is a nice release to see on his list. So we have here a very specific type of Grind, this is what people call Goregrind. But honestly, almost all of the songs on this tape sound like Gorenoise to me.

The first portion of these 5 nasty songs is coming from Bulgarian 1 man project Nucleus. Hm, it’s hard to express my feelings about this lo-fi gore. There are some good riffs and moments, I also like the samples from different horror movies. This stuff should sound very heavy but because of low production and shitty sound this material lost all of the goodies that it has.

Next are Meatus from Canada. I really love this project of Joe’s, the first demo of this band was so incredible. With years of practice the sound of Meatus has been mutilated to a very messy and heavy substance. It still has a ton of low frequencies in its sound. It still has ugly rotten vocals. It still has doses of vomiting energy and goofy blast beats… But there’s not that mysterious factor x on this record. I listened to these 5 songs with pleasure, but this session doesn’t have the same feel to it as past material.

And the final band is Necrotic Eruption from Russia. I heard the first demo of this act on bandcamp and I liked it. But here we have a shitty live recording where you can only hear the drums and vocals and that is sad. Hope these guys will properly record new material soon. Because this stuff is not worth your time…"
